APRIL 2024
WEEK ONE

Preteen

Patience is waiting until later
for what you want now.

Bible Story

Patience Proverb
Proverbs 14:29

When is it hard to have patience?

MEMORY VERSE

“Wait for the Lord. Be strong and don't lose hope. Wait for the Lord.”

Psalm 27:14, NIrV

Engagement Questions

  • When is it hard to have patience?
  • When does waiting seem the most difficult?
  • What is one strategy you could use to have more patience when you’re waiting?

Prayer

“Dear God, You know how hard it is sometimes for us to WAIT. We get impatient when we must WAIT in line, WAIT for dinner, or WAIT for our turn in a game. We ask that You help us make WISE responses and not foolish reactions that hurt others and us. Give us the ability to WAIT for You with patience for the things we want now. Remind us this week that WAITING can make us WISE.

ENGAGE IN EVERYDAY MOMENTS TOGETHER

Morning Time

As your kid starts their day, tell them about a time when you saw them make a wise choice.

Drive Time

While on the go, ask your kid: “What was your favorite part of today? What was your least favorite part of today?”

Meal Time

At a meal this week, have everyone at the table answer this question: “When is it hard to have patience?”

Bed Time

Pray for each other: “God, thank You that even when it seems like nothing is happening with things we are waiting on, You are teaching us things we need to know and preparing us for whatever is next.”
